Does the discrete quadratic model function use a one-hot encoding?

From looking through the DQM documentation, I am having difficulty finding a description about how the discrete problems are actually encoded. My suspicion is that this is using a one-hot encoding since this is the most commonly used technique, but I want to make sure this is correct since I plan on discussing the tool in the conclusions of a paper I am in the process of writing. The paper compares the one-hot method to a recently introduced method based on domain walls (

  • Hi Nicolas,

Thank you for your patience. It took me some time to confirm this information.
You are right, DQM uses one-hot encoding.

    Good luck with your paper.
