Freezing Point in annealing schedule

When know in the 2000q QPU that the dynamics freeze after a certain freezing point ( Assuming I use the standard annealing schedule, does this freezing point depend on the magnitude of the couplings and local fields encoded on the qubits? -Thanks

  • Hello,

If you take a look at the documentation under Freezeout Points, it states:

Networks of logical qubits freeze out at different points in the annealing process, depending on several factors, including:

    • Number of qubits in the network

    • Coupling strengths between the qubits

    • Overall time scale of the anneal, tf

Note that the documentation states networks of logical qubits, so each set of qubits freezes out at different times.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
